Responsibilities include recruitment and retention of Youth Counselors within their assigned Unit, scheduling staff in order to assure that mandated coverage levels are met, training and orientation of Youth Counselors within their Unit to assure compliance with all internal and external policies and procedures. Assist in the development, implementation and participation in campus-wide training programs and ensure all staff under their supervision comply with all mandated training. Supervise staff and perform annual performance appraisals of assigned staff and meet with staff on a regular basis and prepare appropriate documentation. Act as role model - provide leadership. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Health Services or Human Services preferred. Will consider candidates enrolled in a degree-granting program. Minimum 4 years experience in a residential childcare setting. Must be certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training (extensive training is provided) and have a valid NYS driver's license.

Is responsible for providing concrete services to children and their families both on campus and in their communities. The assessment formulation of treatment plans and application of therapy modalities in a systemic manner is required. Accountability to the agency, and referring agencies is needed. Advocacy for the client within the agency setting and outside if needed. Discharge planning is required. Experience with children and families preferred. Masters degree in social work or counseling required.

Responsible for care of children that have experienced Behavioral and Crisis situations and are not ready to return to program. They will utilize proper Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques to respond to the child and ensure continued de-escalation of the inappropriate behavior. The Respite Worker is responsible for providing supervision of the child(ren) when placed out of the dormitory (ie. Health Center). In addition, the Respite Worker is responsible for monitoring direct care services for the child(ren) in respite during day time, evening and overnight hours to ensure the safety and well being of the child and may be required to transport the child to another facility. The Respite Worker is required to intervene directly when corrective action is needed. The Respite Workers' primary focus is child centered; to provide services that meet the children's individual and group treatment needs. When respite is not required, staff will work in the dorms providing additional coverage. Must possess Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field or be actively enrolled in a degree granting program.

Monitor direct care services during daytime and evening hours and is the primary contact for all campus issues after hours. Provide ground supervision and security for all residents and visitors. Report to all department directors any and all relevant observations and interactions to assist in the continual improvement of services. Capable of conducting investigations on an as-needed basis. Attend RCM Meetings to provide relevant information. Inspect the dorms for cleanliness and health and safety issues. Must possess Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field. Minimum of 4 years experience in a residential childcare setting, with at least 2 years at the supervisory level.

| Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist |

Searching for a creative and energetic Certified (or eligible to sit for exam and must pass exam within six months of hire date) Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to join our Recreation Department. Must have a Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation or related field. Green Chimneys has wonderful on-site facilities such as low ropes course, climbing tower, high ropes, indoor gym, canoeing, indoor pool, sports fields, hiking/biking trails, cooking areas and strong ties to community resources. The CTRS would be responsible to plan and lead or assist in recreational group activities and special events. They will need to attend treatment team and facilitate recreation liaisons meetings, perform documentation and assessments on residents and perform other duties relevant to function of department. Experience with children in psychiatric settings preferred. Experience facilitating adventure based activities such as camping, hiking, high ropes etc. a plus. |
