Santa’s helpers present themselves in a variety of ways this time of year, and we are always touched by the giving spirit. For the second year in a row, the amazing staff of Pretium Partners helped spread the holiday cheer at Green Chimneys.

Thanks to the incredible response from our friends at Pretium again this year, we were able to hold a holiday bazaar where our children selected presents to give to their loved ones for the holidays. Not only did Pretium employees provide great gifts for moms, dads, siblings and grandparents, they also included wrapping paper and all the trimmings to beautifully decorate each present. Pretium Partners topped their commitment with a generous donation of $5,000.
“We were truly blown away by the generous response and enthusiasm from the Pretium employees,” states Lauren Bennett, Green Chimneys deputy executive director. “The holidays can be a very stressful time, particularly for our children. But having the opportunity to give gifts to their families is so empowering and important to them. We cannot thank Pretium enough for helping to give a sense of joy and pride to our students.”
Our heartfelt thanks to Pretium for helping our children experience the spirit of giving and for making the season special for everyone.

Meet the Bantam chicken family: a hen that arrived at Green Chimneys with seven new baby chicks in tow. A local resident who keeps chickens discovered the eggs in the hen’s nest and realized that many chicks would need a bigger home. Once they hatched, she wanted to keep the family together and brought Mama and her chicks to the Green Chimneys Farm where they took up residence in the bunny hutch, living together happily with their rabbit roommates. The two roosters and five hens have grown up looking just like their black and white-speckled mom so there’s no mistaking this family resemblance!
