Green Chimneys’ therapeutic day school and residential treatment program are designed for children who have been unsuccessful in a traditional educational setting. Green Chimneys School is a structured and therapeutic educational experience. Small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratio, well-trained clinicians and educators, and a safe, supportive school environment are just a few things that make Green Chimneys the right choice for many students with special needs.
Our seasoned Admissions Team works with you, your school district, hospitals, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, medical doctors, parent advocates, and attorneys to identify the needs of your child, and assess the appropriateness of the Green Chimneys educational and therapeutic program for your child.
Whether you’re a parent or caregiver, clinician, educator, school psychologist, or CSE team member, we welcome you to reach out. Our Admissions Criteria and FAQ pages are a mere introduction to admissions at Green Chimneys.
With the completion of an elaborate new habitat built by Green Chimneys’ woodshop students, the Farm Science classroom was able to welcome Brownie into her new home. Brownie previously lived alone in her cage in the farm and wildlife office, but guinea pigs do best in larger environments. The new habitat allows her to live in a herd as she would in the wild, with many places to hide and ways to practice her skills. Brownie has always been a social creature, and she has taken over the guinea pig herd but is a very peaceful leader.
