COVID-19 Information for Employees

In an effort to support Green Chimneys employees through the continuing health concerns, we have compiled the following materials and online resources to provide easy access to information and support you may need. Below you will find agency health guidelines, resources for self care, and quick links to our insurance providers.

This page will continue to be updated to include any new information and resources sent to all employees. This is not intended to replace the Employee Handbook or other Green Chimneys policies, and important updates will be communicated by email and/or mail. If you have questions or need assistance related to your employment, please do not hesitate to contact your department director or email Donna Kessler at [email protected].

Thank you for your ongoing commitment and hard work.

Green Chimneys Health Guidelines

We want all Green Chimneys staff to remain safe and healthy. Please continue to adhere to all recommended safety precautions at home and when you go out, and be familiar with our agency’s COVID-19 health guidelines and procedures outlined below and in the Green Chimneys COVID Policy.

It is extremely important that we follow these guidelines. Our individual actions have a tremendous impact on the health and safety of everyone on our campus. For the most current information on the virus, please visit

  1. Face Masks
The New York State requirement for universal masking in schools has been lifted. Masks are optional for all staff, students and clients at all Green Chimneys programs and services operating in Putnam County only. Masks are required for individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 or who have a known exposure. Please follow all related policy and protocol updates posted under Employee Communications. If you need a mask for work please speak to your supervisor. There may be some exceptions for particular tasks; please discuss such job responsibilities with your department director before making the decision on your own to not wear a mask.
  2. Health Monitoring
All employees are expected to self-monitor for symptoms and if sick, stay home! Anyone who is found to have come to campus with possible COVID symptoms or who develops possible COVID symptoms while working will be required to leave campus immediately, and must then speak with their supervisor/department director about what should be done next.
  3. Symptom Detection & Reporting
Please be sure to follow the symptom detection and reporting procedures as outlined by Green Chimneys. To ensure appropriate action regarding symptoms and/or potential exposure, please refer to the Green Chimneys COVID Policy.

Employees are expected take appropriate action in the event of illness or exposure. Please review the Staff Guidance Matrix for actions and guidelines for safe return to work.

Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Leeanne at [email protected].
