Training for Education Professionals:

The School Violence Prevention and Intervention Workshop is a mandatory training required for teacher certification by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

This workshop equips educators with the knowledge and skills to recognize, prevent, and respond effectively to school violence. Participants learn how to identify early warning signs of potentially violent behavior, understand the impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and apply de-escalation and conflict-resolution strategies. The training also reviews legal requirements, reporting protocols, and the components of a safe and supportive school climate, including threat assessment procedures and emergency response planning. The goal of the workshop is to ensure that all certified educators are prepared to promote safety, intervene appropriately, and contribute to a secure learning environment for students and staff.

This training is in person.
