Thinking Outside the Box: An Integrative Approach to Mental Health
Space is limited. There is no cost to attend. Reserve your place before Wed, November 1, 2017.
This workshop will explore the integrative approach to mental health care for the lay person. The focus is on enhancing awareness of holistic practices and how they can be applied to managing treatment and overall well-being. Presenters will delve into specific mental health diagnoses such as Mood Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Anxiety, giving participants a better understanding of why standard medicine may not be as effective, and what then can be used to potentially promote more treatment-based success. Some limited hands-on demonstrations will offer a closer look at what Integrative Care can be.
Designed for clinicians, direct care workers, administrators and other professionals with an interest in holistic approaches to mental health.
This meeting is made possible with generous support provided by
Henry J. and Erna D. Leir Foundation.
With the completion of an elaborate new habitat built by Green Chimneys’ woodshop students, the Farm Science classroom was able to welcome Brownie into her new home. Brownie previously lived alone in her cage in the farm and wildlife office, but guinea pigs do best in larger environments. The new habitat allows her to live in a herd as she would in the wild, with many places to hide and ways to practice her skills. Brownie has always been a social creature, and she has taken over the guinea pig herd but is a very peaceful leader.
