Get the entire family outside and having fun with a colorful day of team activities!
We’re taking one of Green Chimneys Summer Camps’ most beloved activities and challenging you to compete with other families for the chance to claim the title of Family Feud Color War Champion 2020.
Ok, sure, the idea of feuds may seem a little odd, but ask any camper or counselor about Color War and watch their face light up. As our first Family Feud edition, we’re offering your family with the ultimate way to get outside and have fun.
Let’s face it, the pandemic has challenged all of us and in many cases has put family dynamics to the test. Here your family will work together, strengthen bonds, and create vibrant memories.
Your family will be assigned a color prior to your arrival. Be sure to dress not only appropriate for the weather but also to represent your color. Decorative signs showing your team’s pride is highly encouraged.
Working together, your family will compete against three other families/colors and will accumulate points as you navigate through a series of activities, including:
There will be additional points awarded throughout the day for Best Representation of Color and Team Spirit. The color (aka family) with the most points at the end of the day will claim bragging rights.
Please note: This event is open to all families. You don’t need to be a Summer Camp family. Color War experience isn’t required either. Bring on the fun!
Due to county and state mandates, and in following CDC guidelines, we require all families to arrive wearing masks. Activities are planned to be socially distant. Further details are outlined when registering.
As a nonprofit organization steeped in educational, therapeutic, and recreational programs, Green Chimneys understands that now more than ever children and families need opportunities to reconnect with nature, stay active, and socialize. This event is part of the Clearpool Weekend Nature Series which provides families several ways to experience 350 acres of natural woodlands, test new skills, and have fun. We’ve also launched a series of weekly programs for children. Learn more about Fall Programs at Clearpool

There’s a whole lotta llamas at the farm!
Green Chimneys has been a long-time home to llamas Lily and Java, who arrived in 2006 as trained therapy animals. Llamas are environmentally sensitive, intelligent creatures that get along well with children and are noted for being well-socialized, extremely curious and highly approachable, making the pair excellent “facilitators” for the therapeutic programs at Green Chimneys.
In the fall of 2011, Lily and Java were joined by a group of llamas, creating a complete community of camelids.
