Please join us in celebrating the life and legacy of Myra Mattes Ross, Green Chimneys Co-Founder.
On Thursday, March 28, 2019, Myra Ross died peacefully at the home of her daughter in Las Vegas, NV. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Myra understood her commitment to children, education and Green Chimneys. For over six decades Myra served as Clinical Coordinator and Director of Admissions here, intricately helping to build the foundation Green Chimneys thrives on today. Thirteen months prior, we celebrated the life of Myra’s husband and Green Chimneys Founder Samuel B. Ross, Jr. Now we’re extending our sincere sympathy to the Ross family once again. Our hearts are with the Rosses’ children, son Donald, daughter Lisa, daughter-in-law Mary, and granddaughters Samantha and Sara.

Crowned the best for falconry in medieval times, gyrfalcons were once reserved for kings. As the largest falcon in the world, with exquisite plumage ranging from bright white to deep charcoal, gyrs are revered for their powerful skill of flight. Their long wings make hunting waterfowl from 3,000-feet-high a feasible and fantastical feat. This falcon was flown in the sport of falconry for several years.
