Green Chimneys’ Administration continuously reviews and updates all procedures to align with New York State Education Guidance for In-Person Instruction at Pre-K to Grade 12 Schools. These documents serve to provide our school and greater campus community, including employees, contractors, students, and parents/legal guardians of students with practices to help protect against the spread of COVID-19.
We believe that in-person instruction is the best option for learning and receiving related support services, as well as addressing the individual needs and challenges of families and youth.
SCHOOL OPERATING PLAN: 2022-23 Academic Year
Please note that the School Operating Plan and related procedures are subject to change. Updates and policy changes will be communicated by way of the notification applications and online tools indicated in the Communication/Family and Community Engagement section of the plan.
With the completion of an elaborate new habitat built by Green Chimneys’ woodshop students, the Farm Science classroom was able to welcome Brownie into her new home. Brownie previously lived alone in her cage in the farm and wildlife office, but guinea pigs do best in larger environments. The new habitat allows her to live in a herd as she would in the wild, with many places to hide and ways to practice her skills. Brownie has always been a social creature, and she has taken over the guinea pig herd but is a very peaceful leader.
