Charity Wine Tasting To Be Held October 28th
A Gala Wine Expo to benefit Green Chimneys' Good Friend mentoring program will be held Friday, Oct. 28, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Ridgefield Community Center.
The special charity wine tasting is being presented by Grande Harvest Wines in conjunction with The Friends of Green Chimneys and Good Friend and will benefit the non-profit organization's Adopt-a-Family Christmas Program. Caputo's East Ridge Café will cater a sumptuous menu to match the wines.
Tickets for the event are $35 per person may be purchased at Grande Harvest Wines in Ridgefield or from Green Chimneys in Brewster. Wine will be available for sale at the event. Founded in 1947, Green Chimneys restores possibilities and creates futures for children with emotional, behavioral and learning challenges. Good Friend, based in Danbury, Connecticut, has helped pair "big friend" with "little friends" since 1975. The program, which became part of Green Chimneys Children's Services in 1991, has helped numerous individuals and families improve their lives. Good Friend serves the Housatonic Valley region, which includes Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman.
