AN APPLE A DAY

(May 22) -- When Green Chimneys founder Dr. Samuel B. Ross, Jr., heard that singer Fiona Apple wanted to be a volunteer at Green Chimneys, he picked up the phone and invited the pop star to visit the 196-acre Brewster campus. This month, Apple paid a visit to Green Chimneys where she was greeted by executive director Joseph Whalen, Dr. Ross and the children and animals of Green Chimneys. She received a VIP tour of the facility and had a chance to meet "Apple" and "Petey," two horses bought with the funds the singer provided to the non-profit organization.
