Barking up the Righ Tree

BREWSTER, NY – (May 1, 2008) – Glenn Close… Chevy Chase… Martha Stewart…Fiona Apple! No, we're not name-dropping. We're just sharing the news about some celebrity friends helping with anniversary fundraising efforts! Green Chimneys is marking its 60-year milestone with star-studded programs and fundraisers. Among them is a “K-9s for Kids Celebrity Dog Auction with A-list personalities. Each celebrity will paint a dog in his or her unique style and autograph it. The dogs will make their debut at our June 5 gala, and will go on sale this fall.
Colorful artistic creations are already on their way to Green Chimneys, including the brightly decorated dog pictured here, which was painted by Chevy Chase. Other celebrity artists will include advisory board member Vanessa Williams; actors Dan Aykroyd and his wife, Donna Dixon; primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall; environmental attorney Robert F. Kennedy Jr.; television personality and style guru Martha Stewart, Animal Precinct star Annemarie Lucas of the ASPCA; actors Glenn Close, Richard Gere, Chevy Chase, Stanley Tucci and Jay O. Sanders; and CNN special anchor and correspondent Soledad O'Brien. Just added to the list are the musical group Menundo, Clive Davis and Rachel Ray! The dogs will be auctioned off this fall in a fundraising charity auction.
