This morning the Putnam Community Service Network (PCSN), a program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County, recognized community volunteers, professionals and organizations that have made a positive difference in the county. The event was held at the Putnam County Golf Course in Mahopac, NY and marked the organization’s 30th awards breakfast.

Of those recognized are two leaders near and dear to our hearts:

  • Samuel B. Ross, Jr., Ph.D., Green Chimneys Founder received the Distinguished Service Award which is given to a human service professional who is making outstanding contributions to the community and human services in Putnam County.
  • Joseph Whalen, Green Chimneys Executive Director received the Professional Career Recognition Award for an active professional currently working in Putnam County who has served fulltime in the community and human services field for at least 15 years during his or her career.
