The Farm and Wildlife Conservation Center is an active member of the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC) and the Association of Living Historical Farms & Agricultural Museums (ALHFAM).

Farm Tours:
If you are interested in visiting the farm as an individual or private family, we are open to the public for self-guided tours Saturdays & Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For insurance and liability reasons, visiting groups of more than six people must book a farm tour .

Farm tours can be booked at certain times during the week and on Saturdays. The timeslots that are available are generally as follows but booking is done by looking at the calendar to see what times are available. There are exceptions:

Tuesday at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.
Wednesday at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.
Thursday at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.
Friday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.
Saturday at 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.

We do not offer Farm Tours after hours or on Sundays or Mondays.

Here are brief descriptions of the kind of tours we offer. Please call us for more details.

General Farm Tour -
Three-part tour includes barn tour, pony ride & hay ride.

(Please note that pony rides are restricted to children under the age of 10)
Duration: One Hour
Size: Groups are limited to 75
Cost: $6 per child/client; $4 per adult chaperone - we require a 1:8 ratio of clients to adults for adequate supervision ($60 minimum booking fee)

General Farm Tour with Wildlife Appreciation Component -
Four-part tour

Includes barn tour, pony ride, hay ride & guided tour through our wildlife center
(Please note that pony rides are restricted to children under the age of 10)
Duration: 90 minutes
Size: Groups are limited to 90
Cost: $8 per child/client; $4 per adult chaperone - we require a 1:8 ratio of clients to adults for adequate supervision ($90 minimum booking fee)

The Green Chimneys Farm Center offers three-part and four-part tours for the general public from April until mid-November. Tours of our Farm & Wildlife Center should be reserved in advance with a 25% deposit, and the proper paperwork must be submitted (including Certificate of Insurance). Our tours are designed to be informative, educational and fun for all ages. Tours take place during our regular workdays on our main campus, which also includes a NY State Residential Treatment Center & Facility as well as a Special Education School. Often, student-assistants from our school and residence programs accompany our farm staff during tours.
