Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs:

TLP: Three Transitional Living Apartment Programs (TLP) for 10 runaway and homeless LGBTQ youth ages 17-21 as part of a Federal RHY grant in Upper Manhattan. The primary goal of the program is to move homeless LGBTQ towards independent living after 18 months by teaching them how to live in the community as self-sufficient adults. The apartments are all located Manhattan and are fully furnished. Life skills training is provided in the areas of cooking, grocery shopping, laundry, money management, job seeking and job maintenance skills, etc. Staff supervisors, mentors and monitors each person's progress. We offer residents Real World opportunities to be responsible for themselves and to learn other essential tools for adult independent living.

  • Transitional Independent Living (TIL) Like our TLP, our TIL is a federally funded program that provides transitional housing for youth, while preparing them for independent living through Life Skills training. The program offers 24-hour supervision for youth, 16 to 21-years-old, and is focused on the LGBTQ population.
