The 40th Annual Putnam County 4-H Fair drew a crowd of 15,000 visitors, but in our eyes, the Green Chimneys students were the real stars. Over 30 students shared their livestock knowledge by competing in the animal showmanship competition. With a few trusty pigs, llamas, cows and horses from the Green Chimneys Farm & Wildlife Center on hand, students explained all they know about these fine animals. The result: ribbons, ribbons everywhere.
And the accolades kept pouring in! Several Green Chimneys classes exhibited projects at the fair too. Six projects, ranging in topics from the Titanic to UFOs, are invited to show at the New York State Fair.
Congratulations to the students, animals, teachers and farm staff. Your hard work is recognized!
