A note about our program

As part of the reduction in residential care programs in New York City, Green Chimneys was recently informed by the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) that our NYC residences for LGBTQ youth in foster care will be closing.

Our deepest concern is for the children we serve and we will be working closely with ACS over the next 90 days to ensure placement in a safe, affirming environment for each resident of  both our group program and agency-operated boarding home in Manhattan.

We will continue our Transitional Living Program and Nature-Based Career Training for LGBTQ youth who are homeless, as well as our primary services in special education and therapeutic treatment for children with special needs.
