Green Chimneys students delighted Swiss Re employees by demonstrating our Dog Interaction Program at a recent event at their Armonk headquarters. And it was our honor, literally. The occasion celebrated Swiss Re’s Charity of the Month: Green Chimneys! Swiss Re has been a valuable corporate partner for nearly 15 years. They have provided funding, supported our eco-friendly events and best of all each year their enthusiastic employees volunteer on our farm, working tirelessly on countless tasks. We are grateful for Swiss Re’s loyalty.

NEWS_Swiss-Re_Dog-Demo_oct-2015-2.jpgThe Green Chimneys Dog Interaction Program launched just over a year ago involves our children in the socialization training of shelter dogs to make them more adoptable and likely to find permanent loving homes. The program has been a huge success for our children and canine graduates. To date, virtually all of our 40+ canine graduates have been adopted. Our children have demonstrated improvements in their behavior and gained a sense of responsibility and increased self-esteem – a win-win!
