Representatives of the Brewster, NY nonprofit, including staff, students AND a few four-legged residents of the organization’s popular Farm & Wildlife Center, greeted Danbury store shoppers at lunchtime and the early evening. This charitable program donates 5% of the store’s daily proceeds and on this day, store sales totaled $75,878, bringing nearly $3,800 to Green Chimneys programs for children and animals.

“We are so grateful to have support from our local business community but to have Whole Foods share its enthusiasm for Green Chimneys with its own customers makes us even more proud to be a part of that community,” said Kristin Dionne, Director of Fund Development for Green Chimneys.

“Whole Foods Market Danbury wanted to support an organization with a 5% Day that positively impacted our local community,” said Lucia Albero (pictured with sheep), Marketing Team Leader for Whole Foods Market’s Darien and Danbury locations “Green Chimneys was a perfect pairing because they aligned with our core values, enhancing the lives of people with special needs through animal-assisted therapy and nature-based education. We were happy to work with them and raise awareness about all the beneficial programs and services they offer.”
