American Red Cross Levels 1 to 4

To start April 2018

Learn to Swim teaches people of varying ages and abilities how to swim skillfully and safely. Each level includes training in basic water safety in addition to aquatics and safety skills taught in a logical progression. The objective is to teach people to swim and to be safe in, on and around water. Sessions are 45 minutes. The 4 levels include:

  • Level 1: Introduction to water skills
  • Level 2: Fundamental aquatic skills
  • Level 3: Stroke development
  • Level 4: Stroke improvement

Preschool Aquatics aims to promote the developmentally appropriate learning of fundamental water safety and aquatic skills by young children. Red Cross Preschool Aquatics teaches aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression through three levels of courses. Sessions are 30 minutes.

To receive a completion card for any given level, the participant must meet the requirements for that level. This includes demonstrating the completion requirement for all the skills in that particular level as well as performing the exit skills. All swimmers must attend at least 6 of 8 classes.
