NEWS_Mitzvah-Project-Comedy_March-2016.jpgTwelve-year-old Ethan Harkavy knows a thing or two about making people laugh. He’s been attending shows and studying improv for nearly five years and has continued to hone his stage skills. In March, Ethan used his talent to help raise funds for Green Chimneys!

As part of his Mitzvah project, Ethan teamed up with LMAO (Laugh My “Ankles” Off) and Eight is Never Enough Improv for a performance at the Broadway Comedy Club with all proceeds going to benefit Green Chimneys.

“Improv does a lot for Ethan’s confidence,” states his mother, Jody, “It's given him a voice that he might not have had. And, he can deal with hard issues through humor. It's wonderful for him.”

As a big animal lover, Ethan was immediately drawn to Green Chimneys,  “I looked it up and saw they not only helped kids but animals as well," he explains. "Introducing animals so kids get more comfortable sounded good. I like that it helps both.”

Ethan’s parents, Jody and Dan, couldn’t be happier, “We are thrilled that Ethan found Green Chimneys. He has always had a soft spot for animals. Sometimes we think that he likes them more than people. He also uses animals to connect, so it really was a perfect match.”
